Makeup Revolution Haul & Swatches.

A few days ago I posted about a new make-up company called Makeup Revolution and told you what I had ordered.

My order came yesterday and I spent most of the day testing out and playing around with the items I received.
As mentioned in the post I would review the items, so here they are!

I must warn you that there are quite a few photos in the post.

I will start off with the single eye shadows I ordered:

We have Go! and Pink It Is from the Scandalous range.

I chose these colours as they are not the colours I would normally go for and I fancied a change.
Go! is a lovely neon green, here is what it looks like in the pan and swatched:

Pink It Is is a beautiful bright cerise pink:

These truly are beautiful colours for the summer, and give your eyes a pop of colour to really make them stand out.

I applied these to my eyes, one colour on each lid.
I used an eye primer and a damp brush to apply these eye shadows, the colour pay off is a lot better:

(Please excuse the absolute state of my eyebrows!)
I decided to line my lower lashes with the eye shadows to define my eyes more.
You can buy these eye shadows here for £1 each.

Next up we have Vivid Blush Lacquer in the colour O Boy.

The blush lacquer comes with a pump which I love.
I ordered this because they seem to be a dupe of Daniel Sandler's Acid blush, which I have never tried, but after a conversation with my cousin about it, they really do seem to be a very good dupe.
O Boy is a cotton candy kind of colour, and a little bit really does go a long long way:

Here is O Boy swatched and blended in, this is why you need the smallest amount out of the pump, but that's a good thing because this blush will last you a very long time.

Here is how O Boy looks on my cheeks:

I used a stipple brush to blend this into my cheeks and the colour isn't that daunting on the cheeks as it is swatched.
This gives lovely coverage on my cheeks and has a matte finish.
You can buy Vivid Lacquer Blush here for £3.

I have heard great things about Make-Up Revolution's Salvation Velvet Lip Lacquers and was keen to get my hands on them.
I'm a huge fan of matte lipsticks, I love how they look and how long they stay on your lips.

I decided to order three, I wished I could have ordered them all, and I will soon.
The three colours I had were:

Keep Crying For You.

Keep Lying For You.

You Took My Love.
Again, these colours aren't what I normally go for, but once swatched and applied to my lips I fell madly in love!

Here are the swatches, in order the of You Took My Love, Keep Lying For You & Keep Crying For You:

These are highly pigmented, and the colour is build-able to get a more intense colour.
These glide onto the lips with no tugging and feel lovely on.
The applicator wand is nothing fancy but it certainly does the job!

Here they are applied to my lips:

You Took My Love. A beautiful bright cerise pink, not my usual colour but I love it!
Keep Lying For You. A lovely lilac that can be build up to a darker purple.
Keep Crying For You. A soft pink that is just gorgeous.

These dry to a matte finish within a couple of minutes, giving you a chance to correct any mistakes you make, and its wise to keep your lips apart while the lipstick is drying.

Now, I have only tested these out for review purposes, and yet have to wear them for a few hours to test lasting power and if they transfer onto anything I eat and drink.
I really love these lacquers though and can see myself getting a lot of use out of them!
You can buy Salvation Velvet Matte Lip Lacquers here for £3 each.

Hope you enjoyed the review and I will be reviewing more products from Makeup Revolution's website soon, when I place my next order.

  1. Wow, I find it amazing how the green shadow brings makes the green in your eyes pop but the pink brings out some brown tinges!

    Lovely post!
